David Gutiérrez Camps (Vidreres, 1982) is a filmmaker based in Barcelona. His directorial debut was an experimental film diary that premiered in the documentary section of Festival de Málaga: The Juan Bushwick Diaries (2013). A few years later he moved closer to fiction with Undergrowth (2018), presented initially in the New Waves section of the Seville Film Festival. Both received a quite unanimous critical acclaim and have been shown in festivals like D’A Film festival Barcelona or New Horizons. 2026 awaits the premiere of his new film, The Convulsions, a French and Spanish coproduction that has toured many labs and coproduction markets arpound Europe. He also directs commercials, music videos and documentaries, and is one of the filmmakers who contributes to the pedagogical program “cinema en curs”, teaching film to youngsters.  He grew up in Vidreres (Girona, Spain) and studied Audiovisual Communication in Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) and FAMU (Prague, Czech Republic). He also attended the New School in New York City in 2009.
